BHU scientists secure permission for German patent for system to inhibit growth of covid virus

NEW DELHI: 4 research scholars from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) have been selected for the prime minister's research fellowship (PMRF) January 2023 cycle.
The selected scholars are- BHU, department of physics, Taj Kumar; BHU, institute of science, department of geology, Praveen Kumar Kannojiya, Rajeev Kumar Pandey and Vipin Kumar. These candidates were selected after a vigorous process while their performance was reviewed a national convention.

The selected PMRF candidates receive a fellowship of Rs 70,000 in their first 2 years, followed by Rs 75,000 in the their and Rs 80,000 in the fourth and fifth year. The researchers also receive a research contingency grant of Rs 2 lakhs per annum.
The PMRF scheme was launched in the year 2018-19 and is for students pursuing PhD programme in bachelor's in technology (BTech) or an equivalent course. The selection process includes judging the candidate's research exposure, publications, their performance in international competitions like math olympiads and association for computing machinery (ACM) international collegiate programming contest (ICPC) and grades and recommendation letters.
