Aligarh Muslim University mourns sudden death of engineering student
Mohammad Faisal, a final-year bachelor of civil engineering student, died due to cardiac arrest yesterday morning.
NEW DELHI: Students and hall administration of the RM Hall, Aligarh Muslim University, today mourned the sudden death of a fellow resident, Mohammad Faisal, a final-year student of bachelor of civil engineering. Faisal died after a cardiac arrest yesterday morning.
Expressing a deep sense of sorrow on the sad demise of Faisal, AMU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Mohammad Gulrez said, “Faisal was a student of excellent potential. His tragic death is an irreparable loss to his family and friends. We pray to Allah for a high pedestal for him in Jannah, and patience to his family members”.
Provost of the hall Mohammad Asif said Faisal joined AMU in 2016 as a student of diploma in engineering. He was planning to pursue higher studies in engineering in a foreign institute.” He was engaged in research under the supervision of Saif Ullah Khan in the department of civil engineering, Asif said.
He added that the BE (civil) classes were suspended for the day and the resident members and wardens of the RM Hall paid tribute to Faisal at a condolence meeting held in the hall today.
Meanwhile, the faculty members, class fellows and friends of Faisal remembered him during a condolence meeting held in the civil engineering department.
Paying tribute to Faisal, the officiating chairman of the department, Mohammad Athar, along with professors Saifullah, Kamil, Tabish and Saad Shamim spoke high of him and prayed for solace for the bereaved family. A two-minute silence was also observed to pay tribute to him.
