Bhimaraya Metri becomes new director of IIM Nagpur

NEW DELHI: The former director of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Trichy, Bhimaraya Metri, has been appointed the new director of IIM Nagpur.

Bhimaraya Metri took charge as the new director of the institute on October 6 and has taken over from L S Murty, who helmed the institute from 2017 to 2020. Before joining IIM Nagpur, Metri hads served as the director of IIM Trichy.

Metri has also taught at L&T Institute of Project Management Vadodara, MDI Gurgaon, IMI New Delhi, and BITS Pilani. Metri has obtained PhD from IIT Bombay and is also an alumnus of the Government College of Engineering, Karad, and Shivaji University, Kolhapur.

He is currently serving as chairperson of various national institutions, such as the All India Board of Management Studies, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi; AIMA Board of Studies, Bureau of Indian Standards, New Delhi.
