CAT 2021 eligibility criteria
The CAT exam committee has made the following exceptions for CAT 2021, in view of the disruption in COVID-19 epidemiology and assessments across the country.
CAT 2021 eligibility for Final year candidates
Students with “promotion/ pass” in lieu of “award of marks” certificates in any of the last two years of the bachelor’s program can enter the “Promotion/ Pass” option in the CAT 2021 application form.
This will allow the student to complete & submit the CAT 2021 application form despite the requirements of minimum eligibility criteria (45% and 50% [or equivalent CGPA] respectively). This eligibility relaxation is also applicable to those final-year students with an “award” of marks.
NOTE: This exception is only available for those completing their undergraduate degree this year or in their final year undergraduate program (graduation years - 2021 and 2022).
CAT 2021 eligibility for candidates graduated in 2020 and 2021
Due to the implementation of point 1 and the fact that different evaluation patterns may be followed by different universities across the country due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the CAT team has decided to remove the minimum marks (45% and 50% [Or equivalent CGPA] respectively) for appearing for the CAT 2021 exam.
NOTE: This exception is made to ensure balance for candidates who complete their bachelor’s degrees in 2020 and 2021.
This notice applies only to the eligibility criteria for writing CAT exam 2021. Students are advised to look at and follow the respective institutes/ colleges based admission policies.
