CAT Exam 2022: What after result; IIM MBA admission process

CAT result 2022 was announced on December 21 at the official website- iimcat.ac.in. Know the MBA admission process which will take place after the CAT 2022 result.

NEW DELHI- IIM Bangalore declared the CAT 2022 result on December 21 at iimcat.ac.in. IIMs and other MBA colleges will release the CAT cut-off 2022, and based on this cut-off, candidates will be shortlisted for further admission rounds. A few IIMs have already released their PGP/ PGDM admission criteria along with the required CAT cutoff on their official website.

To be shortlisted by an IIM, candidates will have to clear the CAT cutoff of the respective IIM. Besides IIM, there are over 1000+ top B-schools that admit candidates based on CAT score. The selection process of IIMs for CAT 2022 will include Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interview (PI).

Major steps to be taken after the declaration of CAT result 2022

• Calculate your CAT percentile on the basis of your score and search for the institute

• Apply for admission in B-school

• Prepare requisite documents

• Choose MBA specialisation

• Prepare for MBA selection rounds (GD/ PI/ WAT)

Calculate CAT percentile and search for institutes- After checking CAT result candidates must begin their college screening process. Candidates should focus on shortlisting B-schools that they wish to apply for.

Apply for admission in B-school- After shortlisting B-school, candidates should fill out and submit the MBA admission form of colleges before the application process deadline.

Admission criteria of top B-schools- The admission process of top B-schools includes two rounds.

• Written Ability Test (WAT)

• Group Discussion (GD)

• Personal Interview (PI)

Prepare requisite documents- At the time of MBA, admission selection rounds candidates will have to bring requisite documents which include a graduation certificate, class 10 and 12 mark sheet, and work experience (if any).

Specialization selection- At the time of selection institute, it is necessary that candidates also select their preferred MBA specialization. Most of the candidates first choose the college and then select a specialization, this is actually the correct approach. Basically, when choosing an MBA specialization, candidates just need to be clear about what they actually want.

Prepare for GD/ PI/ WAT- As specified above, after clearing CAT 2022 exam and applying for Bschool candidates will have to appear for further selection rounds. Nowadays, prior work experienced candidates are getting preference and have additional points for that as well. Hence, those who do not have prior work experience should immensely focus on the selection round and prepare for the same.
