CBSE Board Exam 2021 Update: New marking scheme, 12th exam decision

NEW DELHI: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had cancelled the Class 10 exams 2021 and postponed the Class 12 exams due to the spike in the number of COVID-19 cases in the nation. CBSE Board Class 10: New Marking Scheme
For the CBSE Class 10 exams, out of a total of 100 marks, 80 marks will be allotted for board exams and 20 marks are for internal assessments. As per the CBSE Class 10 new marking scheme released by the board, the assessment of 80 marks will be on the basis of marks scored in different tests or exams conducted during the current academic year by the respective school. The board has asked all schools to upload the marks statement of internal assessment by June 11, 2021. The result will be announced on the official website cbse.gov.in.
Tests to be considered for Class 10 evaluation
- Periodic Test/ Unit Test: 10 Marks
- Half Yearly/Mid-Term Examinations: 30 Marks
- Pre-Board Examinations: 40 Marks
- Total: 80 Marks
What after the CBSE Class 10th result 2021
CBSE board will conduct the Class 10 compartment examination when the situation normalises. The compartment examination will be objective in nature based on the CBSE sample paper 2021 Class 10. The compartment examination can either be conducted online or offline, which the schools will decide later.
CBSE 12th board exam 2021 latest news
The CBSE 12th examination 2021 stands postponed for now. The board will review the whole situation on June 1, 2021, and will take any decision thereafter.
“The situation will be reviewed on June 1, 2021, by the Board, and details will be shared accordingly. A notice of at least 15 days will be given before the start of the examinations.” says an official notification from MHRD.
Will CBSE 12 exams be cancelled?
The number of daily reported cases of COVID-19 has been more than 3 lakh for the past few days. Due to this rapid increase in COVID-19 cases, students are demanding the board to cancel the CBSE Class 12 exam 2021 on social media. Hashtags, such as #cancel12thboardexams2021, #SaveStudents, are also trending on Twitter. However, the board is yet to make a decision on this.
