CBSE launches ‘Dost for Life’ app for psychosocial wellness of students

NEW DELHI: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched an app for taking care of the mental health of the students. CBSE board will begin the annual counselling programme with this ‘CBSE Dost for Life app’ for students and parents and several other facilities from May 10, 2021.

CBSE press release, issued on April 7 quoted, “In another first CBSE has launched a psychological counselling app for students of classes IX-XII during the pandemic. Making a departure from the existing practice of counselling through toll-free numbers across the country, the board has designed this facility for the ease, convenience and utility of students and parents within the safe home environment.”

The app for CBSE students will include the features such as counselling sessions, suggestive course guide after Class 12, tips on mental health and well-being, corona guide, rap songs and so on.

Students and parents will be able to book a slot for counselling session as per their convenience from 9.30 AM to 1.30 PM or 1.30 PM to 5.30 PM, respectively. They can also connect with the experts via chat box.

CBSE Dost for Life mobile app can easily be downloaded on the Google Play store by Android users. Other phone users will be able to avail this facility soon.

How to download CBSE Dost for Life app?

Students can follow the steps given below to download the CBSE Dost for Life app.

  • Students need to open the Google Play store on their android phones.

  • In the search box, type ‘CBSE Dost for Life.’

  • Select the first suggested option and instal the app on your mobile phone.

  • Students and parents will be able to log in using their registered mobile number and registration number of CBSE Class 9 to 12.

  • Now, students can start live counselling through a chat box.
