Chitkara University, Chitkara International School hosts Lit Fest "Bringing Together Diverse Voices"

Chitkara lit fest was hosted for bringing together literary greats from different genres of literature to discuss the boundless potential of words and ideas.

NEW DELHI: Chitkara University, Punjab and Chitkara International School, Chandigarh, hosted literary feast to brought together literary greats from different genres of literature to discuss the boundless potential of words and ideas. The Chitkara lit fest is a forum for the exchange of ideas, the sharing of experiences, and the celebration of creativity. The theme of the Chitkara lit fest was "Bringing Together Diverse Voices".

The Chitkara lit fest was held in different sessions. During the first session of the day, renowned poet Javed Akhtar and author Nirupama Dutt held a stimulating discussion. In the second session of the day, renowned bollywood lyricist Kamil and senior journalist Balpreet had an engaging conversation during which Kamil shared his insights into the art of crafting lyrics that strike a chord with a diverse audience.

The other sessions organised during the Chitkara Lit Fest included;

  • "Iconic Usha: Breaking the Stereotypes," featuring singer, Usha Uthup in conversation with Richa Lakhera
  • "Humanising Turbulent Times Through Literature," featuring master of writing biographies andhistorical fiction, Khushwant Singh in conversation with Laxmi Dhaul.
  • "A Poet's Quest for Change," featuring prolific poet and literary personality, Sudeep Sen in conversation with Dr Jhilam Chattarai.
  • "From Satyug to Kalyug: Exploring the Relevance of Mythology in Today's Times," featuring Dr Nilima Chitgopekar and Neelesh Kulkarni in conversation with Niharika Bhuwania.

Dr Madhu Chitkara, pro-chancellor, Chitkara University, delivered a welcome speech at the beginning of the event and thanked the authors, poets, and other literary figures for gracing the event and sharing their thoughts and ideas. Pro-chancellor stressed the importance of cultivating a culture of reading and the need to provide a platform for writers and readers to exchange ideas and perspectives. She said: "At Chitkara University, we believe that literature and the arts play a significant role in shaping society. We are thrilled to have hosted this event and are grateful to all the participants who made it a huge success."
