The Odisha government has announced partial lockdown till July 1. The districts are divided into categories based on the number of the new Covid-19 cases. Colleges and other educational institutions will remain closed during this time period.

"All educational institutions and coaching centres will remain closed. There will be no inter-state or intra-state movement of buses," said Odisha chief secretary, Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, in the India Today report.

When will colleges reopen in Mizoram?

The state of Mizoram is under Covid-19 lockdown till June 30. The ongoing lockdown was scheduled to be over on June 21, however, the lockdown got extended till June 30, with some relaxations to shops selling essential commodities. The state of Himachal Pradesh has started reopening the medical, nursing, dental and ayurvedic colleges from June 23. The government has announced that the pharmacy and nursing colleges will also reopen from June 28, as per report by India Today. The student fraternity in Kerala is demanding the cancellation of the final semester examinations in the state universities. The offline examinations are scheduled to be held from June 28. The Kerala universities examinations have already been postponed twice, one time due to the surge in Covid-19 cases and another time with the intervention of Kerala's Governor Arif Mohammed Khan.

When will colleges reopen in Maharashtra?

The Mumbai University colleges have resumed the online classes in colleges and universities from June 14. The higher and technical education minister, Uday Samant had earlier clarified that the government is not planning to reopen the college and universities in Maharashtra.

The Times of India quoted Samant as saying, "Currently, the condition isn't conducive to start physical attendance. Positive cases are still cropping up and even the threat of Covid-19 third and fourth wave persists."

No decision yet on reopening colleges in Karnataka: Report

The deputy chief minister of Karnataka, C.N Aswathnarayan has clarified that the government has not yet taken any decision on reopening colleges and universities in Karnataka, as per the report by Hindustan Times. The decision will be made after more discussions with the stakeholders.

"At present, schools and colleges are closed. Based on the vaccination drive for people above 18 years, it will be decided on how to go ahead. Experts have suggested reopening the institutions. However, the state government has not decided anything on it, we will look into it after discussion," Ashwathnarayan told ANI.

Ashwathnarayan through a tweet announced that all the students in degree colleges of Karnataka will be vaccinated against Covid-19 in July.

Exams in UP universities to be held by August 15: Dy CM Dinesh Sharma

In a meeting with vice-chancellors of the different state universities held on June 24, the deputy chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, Dinesh Sharma has announced that all the pending university exams in Uttar Pradesh will be conducted by August 15. Sharma asked universities to reduce the duration of the examinations to a maximum of 90 minutes. The results of the university examinations will be published by the last week of August.

JNTUH Hyderabad releases exam dates

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad will conduct the JNTUH exams from July 5 to 14 for BTech and pharmacy students. The JNTUH 2021 exams will be held only for fourth and second-year students. The duration of the offline exams will be two hours.

“We decided to hold final year second-semester examinations first, as students will be appearing for postgraduate entrance exams and several of them will also be planning for higher studies abroad,” an official said in a report by Telangana Today.

When will colleges reopen in MP?

The Madhya Pradesh government is likely to reopen colleges and universities in the month of August, as per the report by TimesNowNews.  The decision has been made in a meeting held on June 23 considering the decline in the Covid-19 cases around the state. In the first phase of colleges reopening in MP, the entry inside the campus will be allowed to only those students who have taken the first dose of Covid-19 vaccination.  The final decision on reopening of colleges and universities in Madhya Pradesh will be made by the chief minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

The Covid-19 lockdown in Delhi has been extended till June 28. The Delhi government has announced that the colleges and universities in Delhi will remain shut during the extended lockdown. "All school, colleges, educational, training, coaching institutions will remain closed. Online learning shall continue to be permitted and should be encouraged," read the latest official notification of Delhi Disaster Management Authority.

Parents raising concern over reopening of colleges and schools

The decision to reopen the colleges and universities in the state of Telangana is not highly welcomed by some parents' organizations in Telangana. The state government’s move is facing disapproval from the parents in some places, as they fear the safety of their children.

"There has been enough talk about this and a lot of experts are suspecting that the third wave which is imminent, will affect children the most. Allowing schools and colleges to reopen, even with as many precautionary measures as possible, cannot ensure safety," said Venkat Sainath, a parent and member of the Hyderabad Schools Parents' Association in a report by Deccan Chronicle.

When will colleges reopen in Karnataka?

The Karnataka government is planning to open all the colleges and other educational institutions after vaccinating the students. A thirteen-member expert committee headed by the eminent cardiologist and founder of Narayana Health Dr Devi Shetty had been constituted to advise and share their insights in constraining a possible third Covid-19 wave in Karnataka. The committee met the chief minister and submitted their interim report.

PTI quoted chief minister, B.S. Yediyurappa as saying, “The  government is considering opening higher educational institutions in a phased manner after vaccinating students and teachers." However, the colleges and universities are exempted from the restrictions and the classes are running in online mode.

Telangana to reopen school and colleges from July 1

The Telangana government has put an end to the student's question "When will colleges reopen in Telangana" by announcing that all the educational institutions can be reopened from July 1, keeping in view all the Covid-19 precautions. The Covid-19 lockdown in the state was completely lifted on June 20, allowing all the departments and establishments to work with the full capacity.
