NEW DELHI: Osmania University (OU) has postponed all examinations scheduled from January 8 to 16, 2022, as the Telangana government has declared holidays for all educational institutions due to increasing Covid cases in the state.

“The revised schedule of the exams which were scheduled to be held between January 8 and January 16, 2022, will be issued in due course of time,” said a statement from Osmania University. It has advised students to keep an eye on the official OU website, osmania.ac.in to get the latest updates and the revised timetable.

K Chandrasekhar Rao, Telangana chief minister, said on Monday that all educational institutions will be on holiday from January 8 to 16. Rao had also said that more clinics would be set up in residential localities across Telangana to ensure more effective medical services to citizens. He also asked the public to follow Covid guidelines and not to panic over the rising Omicron cases, said an official release from the Telangana government.

According to the Telangana health officials, lockdown is not required at the present stage as per the central government guidelines. “Rao was told by the health department that gatherings should be avoided in the state and proper precautions should be taken, following Covid-appropriate behaviour,” it said.
