NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has begun registration of central universities along with state, private, deemed and others for Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2022 on its official website - Interested or participating universities can register to conduct CUET 2022 or CUCET 2022 exam for UG admissions 2022-23.

The registration window for CUET 2022 for students will open tomorrow, April 1. NTA will consider conducting the CUET exam twice a year from the next session, the University Grants Commission (UGC) chairman Jagadesh Kumar said.

Central universities such as Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University have decided to admit students for academic year 2022-23 through CUET 2022. Recently, Jamia Millia Islamia University (JMI) announced that it has decided to hold the CUET 2022 only for eight selected courses. The JMI admissions for the remaining courses will be held as per earlier practice, the university decided in a meeting held by the committee constituted to decide on CUCET.

Eight deemed-to-be universities including the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) and Jamia Hamdard have expressed a desire to use Common University Entrance Test (CUET) scores for undergraduate (UG) admissions 2022, Kumar said.

Besides the TISS, Mumbai, and Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi, the other six universities were: Gandhigram Rural Institute, Gandhigram, Dindigul Dayalbagh Educational Institute, Agra, Gurukul Kangri, Haridwar, Gujarat Vidyapith, Ahmedabad, Avinashilingam Institute of Home Sciences, Coimbatore, and Ramakrishna Vivekananda Educational Research Institute, Kolkata.

CUET scores will be mandatory for admission to 45 central universities for undergraduate programmes, Kumar had said.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will begin the CUET 2022 registration on April 2 and close the application window on April 30. The CUET UG application form 2022 will be made available at entrance exam of CUET 2022 for admission to various UG programmes offered at participating universities will be held in the first week of July.
