NEW DELHI: The Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) has signed an agreement with the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) with the objective to extend “Mission Swavalamban” to skilled youth through entrepreneurial education. Under the partnership, DSEU will develop courses and also initiate new programmes and projects with SIDBI to support individuals and help them learn the basics of entrepreneurship.

DSEU's entrepreneurship courses aim to help aspirants to set up enterprises according to the market demand. DSEU will also provide handholding and mentorship support to the aspirants to launch and scale up their enterprises. Through this partnership, DSEU and SIDBI aim to support aspirants in starting new micro-enterprises and promote entrepreneurship as a preferred career choice, said a statement from SIDBI.

The agreement was signed at the Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University campus in Delhi on May 31, 2022. R.K. Singh, CGM of SIDBI spoke on the commitment of SIDBI towards MSMEs, and its vision to create one entrepreneur in every household.

"This partnership with SIDBI shall lead to many innovative paradigms in the entrepreneurship ecosystem. We endeavour to build processes and systems with the support of SIDBI to enable young entrepreneurs, especially women entrepreneurs for ease of doing business in the city. The idea is to work on mindsets and building agencies rather than simply supporting them with a seed fund,” said Neharika Vohra, vice-chancellor, Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University.
