NEW DELHI: The University of Delhi will release the special cut-off tomorrow for admission to its various undergraduate courses in DU colleges. The announcement of the special cut-off will be subject to availability of seats in DU colleges.

As per the data shared by the university, over 58,000 students have secured admissions in different undergraduate courses under three cut-off lists. The admissions against the 3rd cut-off list of DU 2021 started from October 18 (10 am) and concluded on October 21 (11:59 pm). Delhi University colleges’ principals will approve the admissions through the DU third cut-off list 2021 by October 22 (5 pm). Candidates who qualify for the admission can pay the fee against the DU third cut off list 2021 till October 23 (5 pm).

As admission under the third cut-off list concluded on Saturday, many top colleges closed the admission to courses like BA (Hons) Economics, Political Science, and English among others. Colleges like Hindu, Lady Shri Ram, SRCC, Ramjas, and Gargi did not release the third cut off for select top courses.

Gargi College closed admission to BA (Hons) Political Science, and BA (Hons) Philosophy under the third cut-off list. Daulat Ram College closed admission to BSc (Hons) Biochemistry, Botany, and Maths, and did not release the third cut off for these subjects. Hindu College refrained from releasing a third cut-off for admission to all programmes including BSc Honours Statistics, BSc Mathematics, BSc Physics, BA English (Hons) had closed during the 3rd cut-off list. The college released the third cut off for BA (Hons) Economics at 99, and B.Com (Hons) at 98.75%. Jesus and Mary College (JMC) closed the admission process for all programmes except Hindi in the third round. The college released the third list for BA (hons) Hindi. Kirori Mal College closed admissions to BA (Hons) programmes in history, economics, BCom and did not announce the third cut off list for these subjects.

The special cut off is likely to see a marginal decrease in a few courses like BSc Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry and Statistics.

“In the special cut-off, most of the courses are likely to remain closed for the unreserved category, while they might be open for the other categories. We will get to know the exact situation after the fee payment window closes on Saturday,” Manish Kansal, admission convener at the Hindu College told PTI.

DU cut-off is prepared using the best of four calculations of Delhi University, which consider three academic and one elective subject. The university offers around a total of 70,000 seats at various undergraduate programmes in its 64 colleges. The Delhi University has received over 1.70 lakh applications for various undergraduate programmes so far under the three cut-off lists, according to official data.
