NEW DELHI: The Delhi University admission process under special cut-off list 2021 started today at 10 in the morning. The University released the special cut-off on Monday, October 25, for the students who could not take admission in any of the DU colleges under the last three lists released by the University.

The special cut- off 2021 was pegged at 99.50 % for BA(Political Science + Psychology) in Lady Shri Ram College. The marks required for BA (Economics + History), and BA. (Hons.), Psychology under special cut-off is 99. 25% for both the subjects. The candidates require a minimum 99% or more in Class 12 exam to be eligible for admission to LSR’s BA (Hons) in Journalism.

Earlier, students had the provision to withdraw their admission and apply in a new college and course of their choice under the second and the third cut-off lists. However, students do not have such option under this list. The special cut-off is the final declared cut-off for a programme.

The admission process under special cut-off 2021 announced yesterday will continue till October 27 (11:59pm). The colleges have to complete approvals for admission against Special Cut-Off by October 28 (5pm). The last date for the payment by candidates under special cut off will be October 29 (5 pm).

Many top colleges like Hindu, Jesus and Mary College, Lady Shri Ram College, Miranda House among others released the special cut-off for a few subjects, and closed admission to the coveted courses like BA (Hons) Economics, Political Science, English, History, Psychology among others. While few of the colleges reopen admission to select courses.

Hindu College has reopened admission to BA (Hons) Philosophy at 97.75%. Miranda House has reopened admission to BA Economics (Hons) at 99%. JMC set the special cut-off for two of its reopened courses, BCom (Hons) at 98% and BCom pass at 97.25%. JMC had not released the third cut-off for these two courses. The college closed admission to its top courses like BA (Hons) in English, Economics, Political Science, History, Psychology among others and did not release any special cut-off. Miranda House has closed admissions to almost all arts, science, and commerce programmes such as English, political science, urdu, sanskrit, and chemistry, mathematics, physics, BCom (pass), BCom (Hons) for the unreserved category except Economics (Hons), History (Hons), Philosophy (Hons), and Sociology (Hons).

As per the data shared by the university, over 60,000 students have secured admissions in different undergraduate courses under three cut-off lists. DU cut-off is prepared using the best of four calculations of Delhi University, which consider three academic and one elective subject. The university offers around a total of 70,000 seats at various undergraduate programmes in its 64 colleges. The Delhi University has received over 1.70 lakh applications for various undergraduate programmes so far under the three cut-off lists, according to official data.
