FLAME University introduces optional 4 year UG Hons, PG, PhD programmes

FLAME University launches an optional 4-year UG hons, new majors and minors to UG courses, MSc in Economics and few PhD programmes.

NEW DELHI: FLAME University, Pune has launched an optional 4-year undergraduate honours programme for the students. With this, the students now have an option to continue their undergraduate education for a fourth year, focussing more on project-based interdisciplinary learning and earn an honours degree.

The university has also introduced some PG and doctoral level programmes. The total number of major offerings has been increased from 21 to 24 by adding three new interdisciplinary majors in data science & economics, computer science & design and design management.

The students can now opt for minors in philosophy and computer science. Overall students now can choose more than 350 major-minor combinations. The university has launched an MSc programme in Economics at postgraduate level and a Ph.D. programme in the areas of data science, psychology, economics, and management.

In another development, the university has launched a separate school for computing and data sciences, FLAME School of Computing and Data Sciences adding more to the existing FLAME School of Liberal Education, FLAME School of Business, FLAME School of Communication and FLAME School of Design, Art and Performance.

Speaking about the recent academic expansion, Dishan Kamdar, Vice-Chancellor, FLAME University, said, “As higher education aspirations of students undergo a change, it is imperative that education institutions understand their changing needs and model their programmes accordingly”.

“The additions to FLAME University’s academic offerings reflect our purpose to educate and equip the next generation with requisite skills and knowledge that ignite imagination, fosters creativity and an innovative mind-set that will motivate them to explore careers of their choice and in the process enable us to contribute to building and shaping the future of a new India,” Kamdar added.
