NEW DELHI: The National Board of Examinations (NBE) will be holding the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) tomorrow, June 18, 2021. The NBE has released the admit cards of FMGE June 2021 for 17,682 candidates along with the guidelines to be followed by candidates. As per the notice, in view of the decline in COVID cases across the nation, FMGE will not be deferred and precautionary measures like social distancing, staggered entry and exit of candidates, isolation labs, face masks and others will be followed.

Meanwhile, the FMGE exam day guidelines are being mailed to the aspirants appearing for the screening test. FMGE 2021 June session will be conducted for Indian and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) to obtain a permanent or provisional registration certificate from the National Medical Commission (NMC).

FMGE 2021 COVID-19 protective measures

  • Social distancing - The number of test centres and testing seats has been increased to minimize the travel needs of candidates.

  • Issuance of COVID E-Pass - The admit card contains a COVID E-pass in case candidates have to travel where restrictions are imposed due to lockdown.

  • Staggered entry and exit of candidates - To avoid crowding at the exam centre, the entry and exit will be done in staggered slots.

  • Negative COVID-19 report - It is mandatory to carry a negative COVID-19 report done within 72 hours before the test.

  • Isolation labs - Candidates with negative reports will also be checked at the entry point. In case any aspirant detected with more than normal temperature or any other COVID-19 symptoms, they will be allowed to take the exam in a separate isolation lab.

  • Use of face mask - No one will be permitted to enter the FMGE test centre without a face mask. Anything other than FMGE admit card and relevant documents will not be allowed.

  • COVID-19 protective gear safety fit - All FMGE test-takers will be provided with a protective gear safety kit consisting of a face shield, a face mask and five hand sanitiser sachets. Protective gear kits provided in the morning shifts must be preserved for use in the afternoon shift.

  • Refrain from attending the exam - If any candidate is unwell or has COVID-19 symptoms, they are advised to refrain from attending the FMGE June 2021 screening test.

FMGE guidelines to test takers

To ensure the safe conduct of FMGE 2021 June session, NBE is mailing the following instructions to the candidates.

  • Candidates are advised to adhere to time schedule given in the information brochure and FMGE admit cards

  • No entry will be allowed after 8:30 am for Part I and 1:30 pm for Part II under any circumstances

  • Use of electronic devices and any barred items at or inside the examination centres is prohibited

  • Anyone involved in any unfair means will lead to cancellation of their candidature

  • Check FMGE June admit cards to know the list of items barred

  • No arrangement will be made at the exam centre for keeping the prohibited items

Items to be carried on FMGE exam day

Candidates are only allowed to carry their FMGE hall tickets with a photograph pasted on it, original photo ID proof (PAN card/Driving license/Voter ID/Passport) and a COVID-19 negative report.

FMGE 2021: Items not to be carried at exam centre

Following are items that are strictly prohibited inside the FMGE examination hall:

  • Stationery items like textual material, notes, plastic pouch, calculator, pen, writing pad, pen drives, eraser etc.

  • Any electronic devices like mobile phones, Bluetooth, earphones, microphone, pager, wristwatch, scanner and others

  • Ornaments such as bracelets, ring, earring, nose-pin, chain/necklace, pendants, badge, brooches among others

  • Any eatable items opened or packed, soft drinks, water bottles and all

  • Other items - wallets, goggles, belt, caps etc
