NEW DELHI: For over a month now, students and parents have been requesting on social media platforms to provide clarity regarding the NEET 2021 exam. However, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has not yet released an update on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET 2021. Aspirants are advised not to believe in any fake news on NEET and to keep a regular track on the official website - ntaneet.nic.in - for the latest updates.

NEET is the single medical entrance test for undergraduate admission to a total of 82,950 MBBS, 26,949 BDS, 52,720 AYUSH, 525 BVSc, and AH seats across India.

Students took to social media to request the education minister and the NTA to address the delay in the announcement regarding the NEET 2021 exam and application form release dates. However, an official announcement is yet to be made.

A NEET aspirant tweeted that “I'm just frustrated, give us clarity. Kindly give all the updates related to NEET 2021.”

“Already this February month has ended but still there is no response from your side....please Sir release the date of NEET Exam 2021 as soon as possible.” Lakshita, a NEET aspirant tweeted.

Responding to a tweet on Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ chairing a discussion of Samagra Shiksha today at 12:30 PM, Harsh Pal, a student tweeted, “I hope that our honorable education minister is going to say something about NEET with a clear statement".

Saying that it could be a relief for students who are preparing for the medical entrance exam, a parent of a NEET aspirant requested NTA to announce the NEET 2021 exam dates.

The previous year, as many as 15,97,435 aspirants had registered and filled the NEET application form out of which 13,66,945 aspirants have appeared for the exam.

NEET 2021: What we know so far?

Increase in the number of NEET questions: As per the Health Ministry, the NEET 2021 questions are designed in line with the JEE Main, where students answered 75 questions from a total of 90. The NEET exam usually consists of 180 questions, however, it is likely to increase this year, of which students will be asked to answer only 180 questions of their choice.

Changes in NEET 2021 exam pattern: It is known that the NEET syllabus will remain the same as it was earlier. However, in view of the reduction of the syllabus by some boards across the country, the NTA has decided to provide internal choice to students for the topics removed. So the paper pattern will see changes and a new NEET exam pattern is expected to be announced soon.
