HSB introduces India’s first 2-year MBA in Product Management course

MBA Project Management, the fully residential course, will include a 4-month long live project in collaboration with partner start-ups.

NEW DELHI: Hari Shankar Singhania School of Business (HSB) has introduced India's first and only two-year fully residential MBA in Product Management at its campus in Jaipur's JK Lakshmipat University (JKLU). The classes will commence from June 2024, the officials said today during the course launch ceremony.

In addition to the two-month internship, which is common for most of the management programmes, the MBA in Product Management curriculum will include a 4-month long live project in collaboration with partner start-ups. “Scholarships based on merit-cum-needs will also be offered at the institute,” it said.

The two-year MBA programme is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by NAAC with an A rating. This MBA programme with specialisation in project management is based on the curriculum certified by the International Software Product Management Association (ISPMA).

The total fee for the MBA Project Management course is Rs 24.5 lakh. Upon completion of the course, the degree will be awarded by Jaipur's JK Lakshmipat University. Students will have 6-month long full-time experiential learning in first year and collaboration with corporate partners in second year.

Who is eligible?

The institute said that the course is meant for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) discipline students, however, others with skills regardless of their academic background will also be considered. Applicants should have the following qualifications to be eligible for admission.

  • Should hold a bachelor's degree, preferably in a STEM field
  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience
  • A minimum 60% grade in Class 10 and 12 board exams as well as in bachelor's
  • A recent test score in Common Admission Test (CAT), Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT), Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), Graduate Record Examinations (GRE), HSB test.

The selection process will also involve a thorough evaluation of the Statement of Purpose (SOP) and personal interviews, it said.

This course is designed to equip learners with cutting-edge, industry-relevant skills that will empower them to make informed business decisions.” “The Rs 32,000 crore business conglomerate JK Organisation has a long commitment to community welfare with a special focus on education,” the official statement read.

The MBA Project Management programme will be taught by Hans-Bernd Kittlaus, chairman of ISPMA as well as other industry experts from global MNCs and well-funded startups. The general management courses will be taught by pedigreed faculty from leading B-schools in India and abroad while the leadership courses will be taught by veterans from organizations like McKinsey, Infosys etc, HSB director Sujit Kumar informed.
