IIM Indore students get Rs 4 lakh highest stipend in summer placements: Report

NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Management Indore concluded its summer placements for the batch of 2021-23 with around 150 companies participating in the placement drive, as per a report from the Economic Times.

Top recruiters such as Amazon, Google, American Express, Asian Paints, Bajaj Auto hired the students, the report said.

According to the report, the average stipend last year was Rs 2 lakh which rose by 11% this year with the highest stipend being Rs 4 lakh.

MBA students work for two months with companies as part of the summer placements for which they get a stipend along with work experience, the report said.

573 students from the two-year flagship Post Graduate Programme (PGP) and five-year integrated programme in management (IPM) participated in the placement drive, the report said.

Traditional companies like Amazon, American Express, Asian Paints, Axis Bank, Bain & Co, Bajaj Auto, Baker Hughes, Barclays, Boston Consulting Group, Bridgestone, Capgemini, Cipla, Credit Suisse, Cummins, Dabur, DE Shaw, Deloitte India, Deloitte USI, Deutsche Bank, visited the campus for summer placement drive, the report added.

The recruiters list also comprised of Diageo, Dr.Reddy’s Lab, Everest Group, General Electric, GEP, GlaxoSmithKline Pharma, Goldman Sachs, Google, Hindustan Unilever, ICICI, ITC, JPMC, Kotak Mahindra Bank, KPMG, Larsen & Toubro, Marico, among others, the report further said.

Recently, IIM Indore signed an agreement with the University of Liverpool to offer specialised post-graduate courses, post-experience programmes, and doctoral research.

The two institutes will work together for developing joint certificates and short-term programmes in the areas of mutual interest as well as exchange of faculty.

In addition to this, the institutes aim to provide a scholars-in-residence programme to bring bright scholars and professionals from different nations together and work on joint research.
