NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Rohtak has started the registration process for the first-ever five-year integrated programme in law (IPL) for students after Class 12.

The interdisciplinary programme consists of courses in business management and legal education. Students will be undergoing several internships as well as moot courts exercises during the five-year course.

Students completing the interdisciplinary programme will be awarded an integrated degree of BBA- LLB. However, unlike other IPM at IIM Rohtak, this programme does not allow students to quit after three years to receive an undergraduate degree.

“There shall be no lateral entry on the plea of graduation in any subject or exit by way of awarding a degree splitting the integrated programme, at any intermediary stage of the programme,” the official notice said.

IIM Rohtak IPL selection

Students with minimum 60 percent (General) or 55 percent (SC/ST/OBC) in Class 12 or equivalent higher secondary certificate will be eligible to apply. The student must not be older than 20 years of age as on July 31, 2021.

The institute will call shortlisted applicants for a personal interview based on their Common Law Admission Test, or CLAT 2021 scores. The final selection will be done by calculating the scores achieved in CLAT, personal interview and past academic performance. The CLAT 2021 scores will carry 45 percent weightage, followed by past academic scores which will carry 40 percent weightage. The personal interview will carry 15 percent weightage.

It will be a non-residential programme at the IIM Rohtak extension campus located in Gurugram. The registration for the IPL at IIM-Rohtak began on March 16 and will remain open till March 31.
