NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has begun its annual science, technology, and management festival "Tryst," organised by the students of the institute. Widely acknowledged as North India's largest technology festival, it is organised by IIT Delhi’s student body, Co-Curricular and Academic Interaction Council (CAIC).

The theme of this year’s festival is about a mascot from 1804 that travels through time to Tryst 2023 to learn about future technologies. Participants can display their technical skills and creativity by exploring the theme of time travel.

The main events of Tryst 2023 include an exhibition by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO); an auto expo with brands like Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Ducati, and Mercedes; the Startup Expo; the India 2047 Ideation Challenge; robotic competitions; a drone technology; etc. This year's festival is expecting participation from nearly 20,000 students from over 700 colleges from all over the nation and a footfall of nearly 60,000.

The Technology Information, Forecasting, and Assessment Council (TIFAC) of Department of Science and Technology, in collaboration with Tryst IIT Delhi, is organising an event called "Vision of India 2047". The event will encourage students to imagine the inventions and technologies that will shape the future and to articulate their vision for India in 2047. IHFC, the Technology Innovation Hub of IIT Delhi, is sponsoring three robotic competitions – Robosoccer, AquaRobots, and CosmoClench at the festival.

"From enchanting guest lectures to learning hands-on skills through workshops, from exciting departmental activities and competitions to mesmerising techno-cultural nights, from meeting eminent personalities to discovering science as never seen before, team Tryst ensures there is something fun for everyone. There are exciting prizes worth 12 lacs INR to be won during the fest," said Sahil, General Secretary, CAIC, IIT Delhi.

"Tryst events can serve as a catalyst for innovation and progress. Through these events, participants will have the opportunity to explore their own creativity, come up with crazy ideas, and contribute to the betterment of India's future. The event "Vision of India 2047" has the potential to make a significant impact on the trajectory of India's development and progress," said Prof. Ashok Patel, Chairman, Tryst 2023, IIT Delhi.

"We are thrilled to announce that day 1 of Tryst'23 was a resounding success! A large number of school and college students participated in a diverse range of events, including hackathons, workshops, guest lectures, and pitching events. The startup and auto expo were particularly popular, drawing in a significant crowd, and we are excited for what day 2 and 3 hold. With a range of activities catering to all age groups, there is still more to come. We invite everyone to join us and be a part of this exciting celebration of technology" said Core Team Members of the Tryst 2023 organizing Team.
