IIT Gandhinagar calls for applications for internship in Information Systems and Technology Facility
IIT Gandhinagar is offering a six-month internship which can be extended to 6 more months. Only 4 positions are available and stipend is Rs 28,000 per month.
NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar has invited applications for internship positions in Information Systems and Technology Facility (ISTF). The last date to apply for the internship is December 5. Interested candidates can apply online at the official website.
The eligibility criteria of the internship is as follows:
- BTech in Computer Science and Engineering or Electronics and Communications Engineering or allied domains with minimum 6.5 CPI or 65% marks or,
- Master of Computer Applications (MCA) with minimum 6.5 CPI or 65% marks OR
- BTech in any other branches with demonstrated capabilities in computer and software systems with minimum 6.5 CPI or 65% marks.
The initial duration of the internship will be six months, with an option to extend it by a further six months based on performance evaluation. There are only 4 positions available and the interns will receive a consolidated stipend of Rs. 28,000 per month.
“The interns will be trained in different facets of ISTF such as high performance computing (HPC), network and systems, software etc.,” an official statement from IIT Gandhinagar said.
Candidates will be Initially shortlisted based on review of applications received. This may be followed by a written test and/or personal interview. Only the shortlisted candidates shall be intimated to appear for the interview, the statement said.
Meanwhile, recently, IIT Gandhinagar’s research scholars won the Gandhian Young Technological Innovation Awards 2021.
Harini Gunda, a PhD student of Chemical Engineering, has won SRISTI-GYTI Award 2021, and Dr Chandan Kumar Jha, a PhD alumnus and now a postdoctoral fellow in Electrical Engineering, has won BIRAC SITARE-GYTI Appreciation Award 2021.
Adding to the achievements, the institute’s professor Atul Dixit has been awarded Swarnajayanti Fellowship in the category of Mathematical Sciences for the year 2020-21. The Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India announced the fellowships.
Moreover, IIT Gandhinagar’s director Sudhir Jain has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Banaras Hindu University (BHU).
