IIT Gandhinagar to host 10th edition of annual cultural fest on February 18, 19

Participants from the UK and Nepal have registered for Blithchron’23. Students of NID, NIFT, PDEU, DAIICT, IIIT Vadodara will also participate in the event.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar will host the tenth edition of its annual cultural festival on February 18 and February 19. The ‘Blithchron’ will be organised after a prolonged hiatus of two years, an institute statement said.

The IIT Gandhingar festival, as per an institute statement, will showcase all of its signature events along with several exciting new additions like ‘Aerosol’- a graffiti competition, and ‘Street Beat’- a solo dance battle unique to Blithchron, among others.

Hundreds of participants have registered for Blithchron’23 from institutions across the country, as well as some participants from the UK and Nepal, to visit and participate in the festival during these two days. Students of Gujarat-based institutions like NID, NIFT, PDEU, DAIICT, IIIT Vadodara, and others are also going to participate in the event.

Every year, Blithchron hosts a number of flagship events that never cease to amaze attendees. ‘Panache’, a highly-anticipated fashion show, attracts a massive audience every year. ‘Synchronize’, a flagship dance event, witnesses top-selected dance teams showcase their best moves on the stage of Blithchron. And then there is ‘Antaragnee’, a popular street play/nukkad natak event that always leaves its audience in awe, the statement added.

Blithchron 2023, which is part of the ongoing ‘Theatre and Performing Arts Festival’ at IIT Gandhinagar, offers an incredible lineup of 11 exciting events that cater to a variety of interests and talents:

The two-day festival will conclude with grand performances by DJ Ravator and Sabali - The Band in Pronites, which is open to all. DJ Ravator is known for his high-energy performances and unique sound with a mix of genres, including house, techno, and electro. While, Sabali is a popular band known for its unique fusion of different musical styles packed with energy and passion. The band members come from different parts of the world, and their music reflects the diversity of their backgrounds. Their music draws on a wide range of genres, including reggae, hip-hop, rock, and traditional African music, to create a sound that is both familiar and fresh.

Being an entirely student-run cultural festival, Blithchron embodies an amalgamation of the creativity and energy of a team of more than a hundred students of IIT Gandhingar to provide a grand stage to talented artists from all over the country.
