IIT Guwahati: PM Modi to lay foundation stone of research, healthcare facility on campus on April 14
PM Modi will virtually lay the foundation stone of the Assam Advanced Health Innovation Institute (AAHII) at IIT Guwahati during his visit to AIIMS.
NEW DELHI: Prime minister of India Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the Assam Advanced Health Innovation Institute (AAHII) set up at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati on April 14, 2023. PM Modi will be laying the foundation stone virtually, during his visit to Guwahati on the occasion of Bihu festival.
During his visit to Guwahati on the occasion of Bihu, PM Modi will be taking stock of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Guwahati campus. Post this, he will virtually lay the foundation stone in the presence of Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, Minister of health and family welfare of India Mansukh L Mandaviya and medical education and research minister of Assam Keshab Mahanta.

As per a statement released by the institute, the facility is being set up in collaboration with the Assam government to leverage the advanced technologies and transform medical science.
IIT Guwahati officiating director Parameswar K Iyer said: "AAHII is envisioned to be a centre of excellence for innovation of cutting-edge health technologies and advancing boundaries of knowledge in frontier areas of medicine. The institute will be an integrated campus with a research and development (R&D) block, academic institution for health human resources including post graduate (PG) and doctorate of philosophy (PhD) programmes, and ancillary support".
