IITH: Dharmendra Pradhan lays foundation stone of BVRMR School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The Union education minister also inaugurated Technology Innovation Park and Research Centre Complex at IIT Hyderabad.

NEW DELHI: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan laid the foundation stone of B V R Mohan Reddy School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and inaugurated the Technology Innovation Park (TIP) and Research Centre Complex (RCC) at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad on Saturday.

“Laid the foundation stone for BVRMR School of Innovation & Entrepreneurship and inaugurated the Technology Innovation Park & Research Centre Complex at IITHyderabad with BVR Mohan Reddy, Saito Mistunori, Anil Chalamasetty, academics, captains of industry and students,” Pradhan said in a tweet.

“Also, witnessed the signing of a landmark MoU between IITHyderabad and Greenko Group for setting up of Greenko School of Sustainable Science and Technology,” the minister added.

Pradhan complimented Reddy and the leadership team of Greenko Group for taking responsibility and donating generously for strengthening research activities at IIT Hyderabad and also for placing the institute at the forefront of innovation and entrepreneurship.

“India is going to play a leading role in the fourth industrial revolution. Coming to IIT Hyderabad gives a lot of confidence. IITH will play a major role in building brand India globally and in carving out a better and prosperous future, especially during the Amrit Kaal,” the minister said.

Pradhan asked IIT Hyderabad to redefine its role to fulfill societal needs and also for providing affordable global solutions. The institute must endeavour to provide education and skilling in frontier areas, encourage risk taking, transform job-seekers into job-creators and establish new parameters of excellence, he said.

Further, Dharmendra Pradhan encouraged IIT Hyderabad and friends from the industry to establish a world-class skill development centre at IITH for harnessing IR 4.0 and also 21st century job markets. “I am confident that IIT Hyderabad with its thrust on research and innovation will be a role model for emerging and global economies,” he said.
