NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Madras) is inviting the public to visit its annual Centre For Innovation (CFI) open house event and, "IITM for All," expo. This expo is going to be held on March 2, 3 at its campus. Interested attendees can register for this expo before February 29 through the link, shaastra.org/register.

This expo at IIT Madras campus will allow visitors to experience the institute's state-of-the-art laboratories and centres of excellence (CoEs), gaining insights into cutting-edge research and technology.

Urging the public to visit the labs during this expo, the dean of IIT Madra, Sathyanarayana N Gummadi, said, “This is one such initiative of the students, which institute is fully supporting to showcase IIT Madras’ advanced laboratories to the general public. I believe this will be an opportunity for all to visit the campus and motive the young generation who will be the leaders in the future.”

Highlights of IIT Madras expo

The highlights of ‘IITM for All’ expo include a robotics lab, biomedical engineering labs, rockets and missile laboratory, ballistic and high-speed flow labs, a 360-degree full bridge ship simulator, an electric vehicle fun event, a cardiovascular genetics lab, lab-grown diamonds, the CFI open house, and 3D printing facilities, etc.

Elaborating on the expo, co-curricular advisor of IIT Madras, V Sriram, said, “This year, intriguing and descriptive offline lab tours will be organised as a part of ‘IITM for All’. Covering each department and its wide range of labs, it allows researchers on the campus to showcase their fascinating work to young students and the general public.”

“CFI presently houses thirteen clubs and seven competing teams with over 600 students being involved in activities over the year. The CFI Open House showcases student projects, encouraging them to apply knowledge and innovate for real-world solutions,” Prabhu Rajagopal, advisor at IIT Madras said.
