IMT Nagpur, Hyderabad is conducting admissions process 2021 for all CMAT applicants

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency CMAT 2021 entrance examination dates have been postponed by more than a month now and candidates who had not applied earlier to CMAT may register now for the exam. However, in this challenging situation, IMT Nagpur and IMT Hyderabad are giving candidates a chance to appear for IMT Common Admissions 2021 as per their previous interview dates and slots communicated by the institute. The personal interview process of the IMT Common Admissions started on February 5, 2021. This selection process is ongoing for applicants of CAT 2020/ XAT 2021/ GMAT (January 1, 2017 – February 28, 2021) and CMAT 2021.

The CMAT 2021 exam has been postponed to March last week or April first week with the change in the exam pattern.

IMT is conducting the admission process provisionally for all CMAT applicants. Candidates who have applied to IMT common applications 2021 on the basis of CMAT 2021 are encouraged to attend the online PI process as per their scheduled date and time slot. The IMT will shortlist their applications based on their PI performance and other aspects of their profile as mentioned below (final merit rating). The offer of admission to these specific candidates will be a “conditional offer”, subject to them submitting their final CMAT scores by end of May 2021 and meeting the campus CMAT score cut-offs for IMT Nagpur or IMT Hyderabad, whichever campus is allocated to them.

The above process is applicable for all CMAT aspirants who have applied to IMT common application 2021 and who have/ will update their CMAT roll number/registration number to IMT candidate portal on or before March 15, 2021.

Candidates can update their CMAT 2021 test scores/ percentiles on candidate portal in the IMT application form by end of May 2021. Post receiving the test scores, IMT will evaluate the scores and change the conditional offer to a final offer only for candidates who meet the required cut-offs of CMAT of respective IMT campuses. IMT Nagpur and IMT Hyderabad are encouraging all candidates to attend their PI process and update their CMAT registration/roll number for 2021 as soon as they receive the same.

The final merit rating, which results in a provisional offer of admission to an IMT campus is based on a cumulative score of the best test scores (CAT, XAT, GMAT, CMAT*) submitted by a candidate, academic scores (Class 10, 12 and undergraduate), work experience and performance in the online personal interview process based on above-mentioned parameters. IMT shortlists applicants on basis of best score among the above-mentioned tests.

*CMAT test is considered for IMT Nagpur and IMT Hyderabad campus only

Key Components of Admission Process

Profile Detail form & submission of SOP (300 words) - Before the admission process begins in February 2021, a profile detail form will be sent to all shortlisted candidates by end of January 2021. Candidates need to fill in the details of basic profile, education background, work experience etc. into this form. In addition to this, candidates need to mandatorily submit a 300-word ‘statement of purpose’. The details of SOP will be given and space for same will be provided in the profile detail form.

Video - All shortlisted candidates need to upload a one minute video introducing themselves and their background, career aspirations etc. The same needs to be shot and uploaded in a given format and portal before the selection process begins in February 2021. The details of the video upload (portal, size, format etc.) will be shared with selected candidates in the SOP document mentioned above.

Personal Interview - All shortlisted candidates need to participate in an online interview process with two-three panellists. The interview will be 15-20 minutes long and will be in online video format. The details of the interview including login details and other protocols will be shared with students via the SOP document mentioned above.
