NEW DELHI: The Jharkhand government has decided to cancel the JAC Board exam 2021 in view of the worsening situation of COVID-19. The JAC Class 10 and 12 students will be promoted without exams. However, the board has not decided the evaluation criteria yet for JAC Class 10th and 12th students.

"Today, in view of the circumstances arising out of Covid-19 and the demand of students and parents, I have decided to cancel the 10th and 12th examinations to be conducted by Jharkhand Academic Council in this session," Chief Minister Hemant Soren tweeted.

The JAC Board will develop the evaluation criteria soon to promote Jharkhand board Class 10 and 12 students.

On April 17, the Jharkhand Academic Council had postponed Class 10 and 12 exams due to the second wave of coronavirus. Students are advised to regularly check the official website, jac.jharkhand.gov.in, to get all latest updates.

On June 1, the central government announced the cancellation of CBSE Class 12 board exams 2021 amid the COVID-19 pandemic second wave. Soon after, several states including Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh announced the cancellation of 12th board exams.
