NEW DELHI: The highest rank in the JEE Advanced at which admission closed in BTech in computer science engineering (CSE) for the unreserved category last year was 63 and at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay. The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced is an entrance test exclusively for the IITs and Indian Institute of Science Bengaluru. Only the students who qualify the preliminary round, JEE Main, with top ranks are eligible to write it.

The JEE Main 2021 ended today and registration for JEE Advanced 2021 begins on September 11, 2021. The National Testing Agency, which conducts it, is expected to declare the JEE Main 2021 result before registration begins.

Once the exam results are declared, the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) conducts counselling for all centrally-run technical institutions and for participating states. Given below are the ranks at which the IITs close admissions in computer science.

IIT Admissions: BTech Computer Science Engineering

According to the records on counselling available on the JoSAA website, last year, the oldest IITs admitted students with the highest ranks to one of their most sought-after programmes, BTech in computer science engineering (CSE). At IIT Delhi, the closing cut-off rank for the unreserved category was 104 and at IIT Madras, it was 157.

JEE Advanced 2021: Important dates

The JEE Advanced is conducted by one of the seven older IITs on behalf of the Joint Admission Board and the 2021 exam will be organised by IIT Kharagpur on October 3. The original JEE Advanced 2021 exam date, July 3, was pushed back due to COVID-19.
