JK Business School Celebrates Convocation Ceremony for PGDM 2019 Batch

GURGRAM, September 2019: JK Business School, India’s leading B-school, celebrated its Convocation Ceremony 2019 for PGDM batches 2016-18 and 2017-19 at its campus. Dr. Sanjiv Marwah, Director, JK Business School, Guest of Honor Vivek Gupta, Founder and Chairman, ISON Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and Guest of Honor Varun Gupta, Director, Kent RO Systems Ltd. conferred the diplomas to PGDM batches 2016-18 and 2017-19 respectively.


Varsha Singhania, Vice Chairperson shares her “ikigai”

Varsha Singhania, Vice Chairperson, JK Business School delivered a rousing speech and encouraged the students with her own life experiences. She said “It is said that a human being is born twice. First, when you’re born and second, when you discover the reason for your birth. Our ikigai is hidden deep inside each of us and finding it requires a patient search.” She shared her journey of self-discovery or ikigai in Japanese. She impressed upon the students to have a purpose in life and stressed the need to undergo self-discovery before deciding on a career.


Rank Holders of PGDM Batch 2016-18

Following this, she presented medals to the rank holders of PGDM batch 2016-18 - Varsha Tiwari (1 st position, 3.68 CGPA), Anushree Nuwal (2 nd position, 3.5 CGPA), and Varsha Chhokar (3 rd position, 3.39 CGPA) – and to the rank holders of PGDM batch 2017-19 – Iti Sharma (1 st position, 3.7 CGPA), Md. Abu Bakkar (2 nd position, 3.68 CGPA), Twinkle Gaur (2 nd position, 3.68 CGPA), and Piyush Khandelwal (3 rd position, 3.49 CGPA). Dr. Ajay Mehta, Registrar, JK Business School oversaw the entire convocation while Dr. Richa Dahiya, Dean, JK Business School introduced the guests.

JK Business School awarded diplomas to a total of 109 students at the Convocation 2019. The Guests of Honor, while addressing the gathering, commended the college’s efforts to create a holistic learning environment for the students. Dr. Marwah and the Guests of Honor congratulated the graduates on their success and wished them the best for the future. The event was attended by proud parents, faculty members, staff, the media and distinguished members of academia.


Awards received by JK Business school

In his address, Dr. Sanjiv Marwah, Director, JK Business School, said, “Do not go where the crowd takes you; make your own path, think for your own and most importantly, do not accept hand-me-downs.” He underlined the many initiatives the college has taken in the last few years such as leadership lectures, industry visits, workshops, and conferences. He highlighted the awards the college has received in recent years including being named ‘Asia's top institution for Industry-Academic Partnership ASSOCHAM 2019’ and being awarded the Education World Grand Jury Award for Extraordinary Leadership by Education World (All India Ranking 3) 2019. He closed his speech with a few wise words for the graduates, emphasizing that they should create their own paths and think independently. Inspiring words indeed that the graduating batches will cherish as they carve successful futures!


Guest of Honour Vivek Gupta, shared his challenges


In his Convocation 2019 speech, Guest of Honor Vivek Gupta, Founder and Chairman, ISON Technologies Pvt. Ltd., shared his personal and corporate challenges and encouraged students to work hard to achieve success in life. He detailed his journey to success with big corporations, the ups and downs he encountered along the way, and the birth of his entrepreneurial venture, ISON Technologies Pvt. Ltd. His encouraging words of pursuing one’s dreams, irrespective of one’s background, and the need to unlearn and relearn encouraged the graduates to work hard and follow their passion.


How Kent RO Systems Ltd. becomes India’s top personal water treatment brand?


In his Convocation 2019 address, Guest of Honor Varun Gupta, an alumnus of Columbia University and Director, Kent RO Systems Ltd., shared the challenges faced by his company on the way to becoming India’s top personal water treatment brand. He reminded them of late President APJ Abdul Kalam who always urged youngsters to learn. Gupta also underlined the importance of having focus, improving the self, learning from failure, and managing time. His words of wisdom resonated with the graduates and everyone in attendance.
