NEW DELHI: The Law School Admission Council (LSAC) will award merit scholarships to candidates who take the LSAT India 2021 exam, which is scheduled to be conducted twice a year on March 25 and June 14.

These include:

  1. Topper Scholarship: will be awarded to the candidate who secures the best score in LSAT India 2021.

  2. Shamnad Basheer Access to Justice Scholarship: The winner of this award will be chosen on the basis of an essay competition; note that only LSAT India 2021 test-takers will be considered for this award.

Each of the above awards will be worth Rs 4 lakh and will cover first-year tuition and boarding/ hostel fee. If there is any unutilised amount left after completion of the first academic year, the scholarship amount will be rolled over to the next year.

The Topper Scholarship is being awarded for the third consecutive year, while the Shamnad Basheer Access to Justice Scholarship was initiated last year.

Speaking about the scholarships, Yusuf Abdul-Kareem, Vice President of Emerging Markets, LSAC, said that they will provide an opportunity for talented candidates in India, especially those belonging to the marginalized sections of society.

  • Comprehensiveness

  • Structure

  • Analytical depth

  • Interpretation

  • Conclusion regarding diversity in the legal profession

The essay will be evaluated by a panel of judges from various fields, like law practitioners, academia, and policymakers.

The LSAT India 2021 application form is open now in online mode and can be filled till June 4, 2021. Candidates who want to appear in the March 25 exam, have to complete their application form before March 14.
