NEW DELHI: On April 14, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) postponed CBSE Class 12 Board exam 2021. Since then, students are continuously requesting to cancel the CBSE 12 board exam. #modiji_cancel12thboards hashtag is trending now on Twitter. The board in a previous notice has said that the situation will be reviewed on June 1, 2021.

The decision to postpone exams was taken in view of the increasing COVID-19 cases. But, the pandemic situation has triggered anxiety and confusion among students and parents.

Many states and cities have imposed lockdown measures due to the increase in the number of coronavirus cases. Considering the situation, students and parents have been demanding the cancellation of the CBSE 12th exam 2021 as going out for examination might put many students at risk.

Earlier, a petition was filed in the Supreme Court to cancel CBSE 12th exams 2021.

Students are also demanding to declare the CBSE Class 12 result 2021 on the basis of objective criterion similar to the CBSE Class 10 exam 2021.

As per NDTV news, India Wide Parents’ Association has also written to the Prime Minister’s Office requesting CBSE board exam 2021 cancellation, marking via internal assessment. They say the delay will cause "anxiety, mental stress and depression."

Students started hashtag like #modiji_cancel12thboards to bring the matter to the attention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
