NEW DELHI: The Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA)’s president had a meeting today with union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya at RML Hospital, New Delhi, regarding National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET)-PG counselling 2021.

“A #FORDA delegation led by President, #FORDA had a meeting today with mansukhmandviya Sir. The agitation will continue & a virtual meeting will be held with State #RDAs today, 6:30 p.m onwards, to decide the future course of action,” FORDA said in a tweet.

During the meeting, the minister promised the delegation of FORDA that he has taken a note of their grievance and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) will get the case mentioned in the Supreme Court for an early hearing, the association said in a statement.

Mandaviya went on to say that the ministry will try to get the case of NEET PG 2021 counselling delinked from that regarding reservation policy, so as to expedite the process.

While refraining from giving an official statement over the issue since the case is under judicial consideration, Mandaviya asked FORDA to call off the strike based on his verbal assurance.

However, the delegation informed the minister that the protest will continue and a future course of action will be decided after consulting with the RDA representatives today, FORDA said.

FORDA announced on Saturday that it will withdraw from all services including emergency in medical institutions from Monday, December 6 onwards.

“There seems to be no initiative or measure taken by the concerned authorities yet, for expediting the counselling. Therefore, following discussion with various RDA Representatives of Delhi, we have decided to escalate our agitation further and withdraw from all services (Routines as well as emergency) in healthcare institutions, Monday onwards,” FORDA said.

The resident doctors across the nation are protesting against delay in NEET PG counselling process.
