NEW DELHI: Aspirants have filed a plea in the Supreme Court against the changed pattern of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Super Speciality (NEET SS) 2022, reported the Live Law. The Supreme Court was approached by NEET SS 2022 aspirants who were MD radiation oncologists and MD anesthesiologists.

As per the revised NEET SS 2022 exam pattern, the question papers are supposed to include 150 questions from the general or basic component of the primary feeder broad speciality subject and from all sub-speciality of that primary feeder broad speciality subject. These aspirants also find the draft regulations issued by the National Medical Commission (NMC) regarding the postgraduate medical education against their interests as the regulation proposes to remove MD radiation oncology or radiotherapy as eligible qualification for the NEET SS courses of DM medical oncology.

The aspirants reportedly said that the change in pattern is arbitrary, illogical, unreasonable and partial. They further said that this change will make their preparation, efforts and time go in vain.

Earlier, the NEET SS paper used to have 40 percent mixed questions from all broad specialities and 60 percent from super speciality subjects. According to the aspirants, this provided a level-playing field for all aspirants. But the new pattern requires everyone from different specialities to attend an exam of a single paper with all questions from general medicine.
