VIT to conduct M.Tech and MCA admissions based on UG degree performance

NEW DELHI: Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has announced that M.Tech and MCA admissions will now be done on the basis of the candidate’s performance in their Bachelor’s (Undergraduate) degree. No entrance examination will be conducted by the authorities due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. For admissions, the candidates can apply on the official website till June 20, 2020. For those candidates who had already registered, they will be allowed to edit their application form details except email and mobile number.

According to the notice, the admission counselling process will also be conducted in online mode by VIT. Priority will be given to GATE qualified candidates and Non-GATE qualified candidates will then be allotted seats as per their undergraduate academic performance (upto pre-final year performance). The academic session will commence from August 3, 2020 for the 23 M.Tech degree programmes offered by VIT in its Vellore, Chennai, AP and Bhopal campuses. Students can opt for admissions into various programmes such as VLSI design, Embedded Systems, Automotive Electronics, Computer Science Engineering with specialisations. During the programme, a 9-month internship programme in the industry will also be offered to the students. Many of the industries which recruit interns from the campus, convert their status into full-time employment.

5 Year Integrated Programmes in M.Tech and M.Sc

VIT has also opened the admission process for the 5 year integrated programme in M.Tech and M.Sc for students who will be completing their 12th standard examination. The final date to apply is July 15, 2020 and admissions will be done on the basis of academic merit. The 5 year Integrated M.Tech. (Software Engineering) programme is specifically designed to meet the needs of the IT industry. Meanwhile, Integrated M.Sc. programme places emphasis on employability and providing highly transferable skills for a fast-evolving sector. M.Sc. Bio-Science students gain an in-depth understanding of the key issues in healthcare research and can become a successful researcher on the international stage.
