JIPMER releases caution notice for fake admissions in medical courses

NEW DELHI: Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry, has released a caution notice for aspirants seeking any admission through JIPMER entrance exam. In the public notice by the academic dean of JIPMER, aspirants are notified that admission to all undergraduate or postgraduate courses at the Institute of National Importance (INI) will be strictly granted on the basis of merit list prepared after the entrance test.

Authorities have clarified through the caution notice that some individuals/ organizations are making false advertisements over newspapers and social media that they can ensure the JIPMER admission by charging some fee for the same. A prominent entrance exam JIPMER PG is the basis for admission to a total of 125 Master of Surgery (MS) and Doctor of Medicine (MD) seats granted in Puducherry campus.

Beware of fraud notices
In the official notice, JIPMER authority has informed that they have not appointed any individual/ agency/organisation to make any kind of admission assurance on their behalf. It is also mentioned in the prospectus website that as per the JIPMER policy, authorities do not charge any kind of capitation fee for granting admission from the students.

They have also warned aspirants and their parents to beware of such fraudulent. The notice mentions that despite this notice, if any aspirants or parents will indulge in transactions with these elements, they would be doing only on their own risk. Any aspirants found attempting to get JIPMER admission with these agents will be permanently disbarred for getting admission in any courses of JIPMER.

Under the act of Parliament, JIPMER was upgraded as the Institute of National Importance in the year 2008. The institute offers admission to MBBS, MD/MS, MDS, BSc, MSc, DM/MCh and other medical courses.
