NIT: More job offers

The curriculum has been revised for batch admitted in 2020-21 based on New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and future industry needs.

“Due to the pandemic, companies started recruiting only when there is a project in hand, which was not the case in the previous years,” said Karthikeya Sharma, associate dean training and placements, NIT Andhra Pradesh. “Companies used to hire students and showing that manpower they used to get the project. Identifying this scenario, the Training and Placement Cell reached out to more companies for hiring. During the pandemic, every company hired fewer numbers than the previous years but reaching out to more companies helped NIT Andhra Pradesh to secure a good number of placements.”

NIT Andhra Pradesh: Placement training

The training and placement cell has taken several to prepare the students for online placement. At the beginning of the academic year, the training and placement cell prepared a calendar of technical sessions, encouraging students by keeping them notified about off- campus placements also.

Further the students from non-IT (core) branches were alerted to strengthen their coding skills, so that they will be placed in an IT company if they are interested instead of waiting for core companies.

The institute had also started training and encouraging students starting from their third year of their undergraduate courses which helped them to get internships in top companies and work on mini projects besides registering for online courses.
