OP Jindal Global University launches 17 new academic programmes, two schools

The newly launched courses will start from academic year 2022. The courses will be taught by over 900 full time faculties from across the world.

NEW DELHI: OP Jindal Global University (JGU) launched 17 new undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes, and two new schools for the academic year starting in 2022. The two new schools are Jindal School of Public Health and Jindal School of Literature and Languages.

"We are elated to announce admissions for 2022 with 17 new academic programmes and the launch of two new Schools, Jindal School of Public Health (#JSPH) and Jindal School of Literature and Languages (Jindal School of Languages & Literature)," the university said on its official social media page.

The newly launched programmes are in alignment with National Education Policy 2022 and aim to offer students scholarly choices in pursuing interdisciplinary, intellectually rigorous, and globally engaged education. The new courses at the university will have over 900 full-time faculty members from 42 different countries across the world. With the introduction of these new courses, JGU becomes India's Comprehensive Liberal Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences University, reported the Times of India.

The 17 new programmes the university introduced are BA(Hons.) in Human Rights, Gender Studies, Criminology and Criminal Justice, Diplomacy and Foreign Policy, Public Policy, Sociology, Film and New Media, English, Spanish. In the commerce stream, the university has introduced B.Com (Hons.) in Capital Markets, B.Com (Hons.), and Global B.com (Hons).

Besides, BA, BSc. (Hons) in Sustainable Development, Bph (Hons.) Bachelor Of Public Health, MA, MSc in Applied Psychology, MSc. Behavioural Finance, Integrated MSc. and PhD in Behavioural Finance were also introduced for academic session 2022. The university also launched a one year global MBA in Business analytics.

TOI quoted Upasana Mahanta, dean, office of admissions and outreach saying, "Our programmes offer a unique framework for addressing contemporary realities and challenges with cutting-edge teaching, research, and interdisciplinary and experiential learning led by outstanding faculty members who are inspiring teachers and prolific scholars. Our new courses will enable our students to be prepared for the vagaries of nature where multi-disciplinary learning can enable thought leaders to respond to the new and emerging challenges."
