NEW DELHI: Patna University is most likely to conduct the pending examinations of UG programmes in the month of July, as per some media reports.
The decision of examinations has been taken following the UGC guidelines, reported India Today.
The fresh date sheet for the examinations will be published soon on the official website of the university.
The examinations were halted due to the nationwide lockdown. However, the university had earlier successfully conducted examinations for Part 3.
“A meeting of all deans, all heads and all directors of institutes, Patna University will be held on June 11 at 3 pm, under the chairmanship of vice-chancellor to notify the date of postgraduate including self-financing course which is not notified till now due to COVID-19,” reads an official notification.
The university will open the registration window for admissions in the upcoming academic session till June 20. The new academic session will start from August 24 onwards.
Demand for mass promotion
The students are demanding for the mass promotion citing the risk of transmission and rise of COVID-19 tally in the state. Many students have started online campaigns against the decision of conducting examinations in the middle of the pandemic. The National Students’ Union of India has handed over a memorandum to the Vice-Chancellor on Sunday demanding the promotion of students and exemption of fee.
