Pondicherry University to promote final year students without exams
NEW DELHI: Pondicherry University has decided to cancel the final year examinations and promote the students without appearing for the examinations.
The students will be assessed for results based on internal marks and continuous internal assessment during the semester.
“Existing criteria and regulations are to be followed for award of internal marks and all formalities for writing examinations like registration, payment of fees, minimum attendance is must for assessment within the prescribed time limit,” reads the official notification.
The assessment is also applicable for arrear papers which are held for the students of final year.
The university cancelled the examinations which were to be held in the month of April and May, due to the growing outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.
On June 8, the university released a notification stating that the students belonging to lower semesters will be promoted based on the internal marks and continuous internal assessment.
Following which various student’s organization bodies including SFI and NSUI staged protests demanding for the promotion of final year students.
