NEW DELHI: Major surge in COVID-19 cases in India led students across India to demand JEE Main postponement of the April session. Students showed their concern on Twitter using hashtags like #postponejee2021 and #jeemains2021postpone, which are now trending.

Previously, CBSE cancelled the Class 10 board exam and postponed Class 12 board exams amid the surge in COVID-19 cases. The National Board of Examinations has also taken a decision for NEET PG postponement.

JEE Main April exam postponed due to surge in COVID-19 cases

The major reason for students to demand the postponement of JEE Main April 2021 is the weekend lockdown imposed in various states. Another reason cited by applicants is the long travelling distance to reach JEE Main exam centre amid lockdown.

India saw a record spike in coronavirus cases in the past few days. On April 16, Indian reported 2.17 lakh fresh cases. It is due to this increasing number of cases that students started demanding the authorities to reschedule JEE Main.

NTA is going to conduct JEE Main 2021 for the third session from April 27 to 20 across the country. Applicants appearing for the exam can download the JEE Main April admit card soon from the official website. Candidates are also advised to keep checking the official website for JEE Main April 2021 postponed news.

National Testing Agency is conducting JEE Main 2021 in four sessions this year - February, March, April and May. As per the feedback from candidates who appeared for previous sessions, all the COVID-19 guidelines and SOPs were followed at the exam centre.
