SASTRA University awards distinguished alumni at Global Alumni Meet

New Delhi: SASTRA University held their Global Alumni Meet on January 26, 2020 at SASTRA’s centre in Chennai. Distinguished alumni of the University were invited and acknowledged during the meet for their outstanding service and excellence in their respective fields and for building a resurgent India.

During the event, the 2019 SASTRA Distinguished Alumni Excellence Award was presented to S. Pazhanikumar, a 1992 Mechanical Engineering graduate, who is currently a Scientist G at DRDO-CVRDE, for his outstanding public service and contributing to India's defence.

The 2019 SASTRA Distinguished Alumni Excellence award for Corporate Service was awarded to 1994 Electrical Engineering graduate Mr.S.V.Ramanan, CEO India and Asia, Intellect Design Arena.

Girish Mathroobootham, Founder & CEO of Freshworks who is a 1996 Electrical Engineering graduate was presented the SASTRA Alumni Award for his exceptional entrepreneurial excellence.

The Global Alumni Meet was presided by the President of SASTRA Alumni Association, Mr. Sridhar Gopalan. Dr.S.Vaidhyasubramaniam, Vice-Chancellor of SASTRA University read out the award citations during the event.
