NEW DELHI: Candidates who appeared for the Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level (SSC CGL) 2023 are demanding revised results citing that very less number of students qualified for the mains exam as compared to previous years. The aspirants alleged that the commission called fewer candidates for the increased vacancies without notifying the reasons.

This year, 71,112 students qualified for the second exam. Some candidates shared a comparison of the number of qualified candidates over years and alleged that only 8.4 times of the vacancies have been selected for the SSC CGL tier 2 exam while 12-15 times candidates used to qualify for the mains exam. A student posted on X, “It is a high time to make a fixed rule to qualify the candidates in exams.Your whims and fancies won't work here anymore.”

Another student demanded revised result and said, “How can be ssc so cruel by calling just 8.4 times candidates for the mains examination? It is just intolerable. We want 15 times result. We want revised result.”

An X user wrote, “Staff Selection Commission should have been consistent with the number of candidates selected. Many candidates are brilliant; they just didn't think that the cut-off for a stage, qualifying in nature, would spike up like this.”
