UGC-NET phase 2 postponed, to be conducted between September 20 and 30

NEW DELHI: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has postponed the second phase of the National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET). The UGC NET second shift exam will now be held between September 20 and 30, UGC chairman M Jagadesh Kumar said in a tweet today.

Earlier, the UGC NET exam was scheduled to be conducted between August 12 and 14. "The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the first phase of UGC-NET December 2021 and June 2022 (merged cycles) examination on July 9, 11 and 12, 2022 for 33 subjects in 310 examination centres located in 225 cities across the country," the UGC chairman tweeted. "Second phase was earlier scheduled to be held on 12, 13 and 14 August 2022. However, now the final phase examination of UGC-NET December 2021 and June 2022 (merged cycles) has been scheduled to be conducted between 20 and 30 September 2022, involving 64 subjects," he said.

Kumar further said that the city of examination centre will be displayed on September 11 on the NTA website, and the UGC NET admit card will be available to download from September 16 onwards on the NTA website -- ugcnet.nta.nic.in. Candidates will have to enter their registration number and date of birth on the NTA login portal to download the UGC NET admit card.

The UGC chairman further advised the candidates, not to trust the fake notices circulated on social media and asked them to regularly visit the NTA website -- ugcnet.nta.nic.in for the latest updates related to UGC NET 2022. Candidates having any queries related to the UGC NET exam can write to ugcnet@nta.ac.in.

UGC NET Admit Card 2022 Phase 2: Steps to download

Candidates can download the UGC NET hall ticket 2022 for phase 2 by following the below-given steps.

  • Visit the NTA website for UGC NET -- ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

  • Under the “Candidates activities” section on the home page, click on the UGC NET admit card 2022 link.

  • Type in required login credentials such as the UGC NET application number and date of birth and the security pin displayed.

  • Click on the sign in button.

  • UGC NET admit card 2022 will appear on the screen.

  • Download the NET admit card in PDF format or take printouts.

During the UGC NET 2022 first phase exam, many made complaints regarding technical glitches at various exam centres. Many candidates took to social media to explain their struggle and criticised the National Testing Agency (NTA) and UGC.
