NEW DELHI: The CBSE Class 12, 2021 evaluation criteria submitted before the Supreme Court evoked mixed reactions from students. As per the CBSE Board Class 12 evaluation criteria, 40% of the marks will be based on the Class 12 unit test, mid-term and pre-board examination, whereas 60% weightage will be given to students’ performance in Classes 10 and 11 final exams.

A student tweeted that the CBSE results assessment process for Class 12 is “unfair”. She further said that students pick a stream after Class 10. Therefore, they should be evaluated on the basis of the subjects which they have chosen.

Another student said that taking CBSE Class 10 marks into consideration “is one of the most stupid decisions made by the CBSE Board”. Adding to it, she said, “only English is a common subject in Class 10 and 12. Does this show the incompetence of the authorities to make decisions.”

Furthermore, a Twitter user said, “The marking formula for Class 12 is surprising

Had a student not fared well in Class 10 and 11 and worked hard in Class 12, then 60% marks of Class 10 and 11 will deprive them of a good percentage. In normal cases, the marks of Classes 10 and 11 would not come into play.”

Several students expressed their concern regarding the CBSE board evaluation scheme through funny memes.

The school authorities will evaluate CBSE Class 10 students on the marks based on the average theory component of the best three performances out of the main 5 subjects.
