NEW DELHI: The University of Sheffield is inviting applications for admission into its Master of Science (MSc) programme in Molecular Medicine, starting in September 2024. This programme delves into the application of recent advancements in molecular, genetic, and cell science to understand the fundamental origins of human diseases.

Sheffield University informed that the tuition fees for 2024 admission are yet to be confirmed, the university suggests using the 2023 annual tuition fee of 25,600 Pounds for overseas students as a reference point. As per the official press release, the curriculum explores the cellular and molecular biology, along with molecular genetics, behind various illnesses. It also sheds light on how recent technological advancements are revolutionizing scientific discovery, diagnosis, and treatment methods.

The institute said that the programme offers the international postgraduate scholarship 2024 for qualified international students from select regions, including India. This scholarship offers a 2,500 Pounds tuition fee discount for students pursuing a taught master's program starting in September 2024.

Notably, no separate application is required for the scholarship; eligible students will automatically receive the discount upon meeting the criteria, the institute further said.

University of Sheffield Admission 2024: Eligibility

Candidates can check the eligibility criteria before applying for the course.

  • Candidates should have a 3 or 4-year bachelor’s degree from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% or a 2:1 (upper second class honours) degree in a relevant field like human or animal biology.

  • Candidates should have proficiency in the English language and an overall International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.5 with a minimum of 6 in each component or equivalent.

After completing the core coursework, students will undertake a 20-week, full-time research project under individual supervision. This project allows them to choose from a list of available options and work within an active research group in a laboratory setting.
