Veterinary Council of India recommends approval of BHU's programme in veterinary sciences, animal husbandry

After the approval, BHU will be authorised to award a bachelor degree in veterinary sciences, animal husbandry. The course intake will be 60 students.

NEW DELHI: The Veterinary Council of India has recommended the approval of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) bachelor's degree in veterinary sciences and animal husbandry to the ministry of fisheries, animal husbandry and dairying.

According to a press statement, the council's recommendation will benefit students from the 2017-18 batch onwards. After the recommendation is accepted BHU's BVsc and AH programme will be authorised to award degrees to students pursuing this course. The university will also be able to accept an annual intake of 60 admissions in the programme.

Candidates applying to the course must have a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 from recognised boards. The applicants must have also passed in all subjects- biology (zoology and botany), physics, chemistry and English. The age of the candidate must not be below 17 years or above 25 years of age.

The course fee of the programme is- regular fee Rs 56,089 in the 1st professional year and Rs 50,314 for for the rest of the programme. The tentative hostel fee for 1st year Rs 7,500 in the first year and Rs 2,310 from 2nd year onwards.

In recent news, the university will be closing BHU school admissions 2023 for Class 1 and 6 today. Students can apply at bhuonline.in. BHU as also launched a new scheme to provide financial aid for international PhD scholars at the university. Under the scheme, the scholars will receive an incentive of Rs 40,000.
