VITEEE 2021 exam eligibility- JEE Main/SAT scores optional

NEW DELHI: Vellore Institute of Technology has released the VITEEE application form 2021 at vit.ac.in on November 30 along with the information brochure. As per the VITEEE eligibility criteria 2021 provided by the authorities, the qualifying examinations also include JEE Main/SAT scores as one of the examinations. Not only this, but candidates are also asked to upload JEE Main/SAT scorecard while uploading documents for the VITEEE application form.

Due to this new clause, speculations started that VIT will be considering JEE Main/SAT scores for admission this year or will be giving weightage to such candidates. In order to get clarifications on the points of VITEEE 2021 eligibility criteria, Careers360 team spoke to the VIT officials. As per the clarifications provided by an official on the eligibility criteria of VITEEE 2021; the institute will consider JEE Main/SAT scores only in the case if VITEEE 2021 gets cancelled like last year due to prevailing COVID-19 conditions. The official clarified that appearing in VITEEE 2021 is mandatory. The option for uploading JEE Main/SAT scorecard has only been provided to be ready in case of unexpected conditions.

He further stated that the authorities will also provide a facility to fill the VITEEE 2021 application form in offline mode tentatively in January when the schools and colleges will get open and conditions become normal. Online VITEEE application has already started and the last date of application is March 30.

As per the VITEEE exam dates 2021 released by the authorities; the exam will be conducted tentatively in the second to third week of April.
