NEW DELHI: The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has asked all head examiners of Madhyamik Class 10 board exams 2024 to submit the marks online with an aim to enhance efficiency. This is in addition to the existing method of submitting WB Class 10 marks through ICR, OMR marks foils.

The board had partially introduced online verification last year, whereas for the 2024 board exams, the board is taking a step forward with the intention to streamline the submission procedure. The WB Class 10 Madhyamik board exam 2024 was held from February 2 to 12 at various exam centres.

“We understand that transitioning to a new system may pose challenges, which is why it is encouraged to seek assistance from the scrutineers. You can enlist the support of 4 to 5 scrutineers suitable in helping you to navigate the online marks submission process effectively in due time,” the board said.

The West Bengal Board said a detailed video demonstration will be shared in order to familiarize the head of examiners with the online mark submission process. The link to the instruction video will be shared through SMS.

Additionally, “as a token of appreciation for your cooperation and effort in adapting to the new system, a consolidated honorarium of Rs 500 will be paid by the Board at the time of payment of remuneration to the Head Examiners, subject to completion of respective online submission of marks”.

The state board has also issued guidelines to maintain highest standards of security and confidentiality in handling the allotted packets of written answer-scripts. Safe handling during transit, secure storage, confidentiality, non-evaluation of answer sheets in public spaces, time-bound submission are the measures suggested by the board. The board had in December instructed the officials to preserve the CCTV footage of every day till the declaration of WB Class 10 board exam results 2024.
