The JEE Main Session 2 result declaration is only one part of the engineering admission process. The actual process of assigning seats to qualifying students is through "counselling" conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). The JoSAA counselling process will begin only after the JEE Advanced, scheduled for May 26, 2024. The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) is for admission counselling for all NITs, IIESTs, IIITs and CFTIs. The IITs have the Joint Admission Board (JAB). The JoSAA combines both.  

On the first day of the JEE Main 2024 Session 2, held on April 4, 2024, during Shift 1, 118,246 candidates were registered, out of which 105,288 candidates appeared, resulting in an attendance percentage of 89.04%.

NTA scores are normalized scores across multi-session papers and will be based on the relative performance of all those who appeared for the examination in one session. The marks obtained in JEE Mains 2024 session 2 are converted into a scale ranging from 100 to 0 for each session of examinees.
